About me
Thank you for visiting my blog! Given the wealth of online college information already available on the net, some may wonder why I decided to launch this blog. After several years of attending online classes, I found that most online learning sites lack a human element. With so many colleges vying for my attention (and yours), I thought it would be nice to have a platform to share our thoughts and experiences. With that in mind, here is a little information about me. My name is Joy and I am thirty-four years old. Six years ago, I decided to head back to school. Obviously, that was not a small decision. At the time, I was not familiar with online learning, so I opted to attend night classes at my local university. After one year of working full-time during the day and attending classes a couple nights a week, I was the proud owner of 12 credit hours. Although I was happy to have earned those hours, I quickly realized that it would take me 10 years to finish my degree at that pace! Needless to say, I started looking for other alternatives. After quite a bit of research, I ultimately decided to attend classes at Central Texas College online for two years to get my basics. I then transferred to Columbia College online, where I presently attend classes. Today, I am both proud and excited to say that I will be graduating in May 2008 and proceeding to law school! UPDATE (5/18/08): I graduated May 10th with a BA in Business Administration and will be attending law school this fall! Looking back, I realize there were so many times when I could have easily thrown in the towel and said, it’s just not worth it. Between work and other commitments, there were (and still are) plenty of things vying for my time and attention. I will not tell you that it is going to be easy, but I will tell you that earning your college degree online is an incredibly rewarding experience. As I continue to add information to this blog, please feel free to contact me using the Contact form. If I cannot answer your questions, perhaps I can at least point you in the right direction.
