Thanks for posting your personal experiences. Obviously we all have different experiences with schools, so it helps to see differing viewpoints. Time and time again visitors say how helpful student feedback is on this site when they are looking for a school. So thanks for contributing!

Christine is having some personal issues with UOP that would probably not happen to many other students. Anyway, i have attended UOP for nearly a year now, and the only problem i have encountered is a occasional technical issue such as the web site down for maintenance or i am unable to post an assignment. This issues are easily fixed through the technical support whom are extremely helpful. There are Pros and Cons for any school and the same applies for Online schools Vs. campus schools. Online schools tend to be a little more expensive, i do not know why, but they are much more convenient. If you are looking for hands-on and face to face learning, Online is not for you. However, if you have trouble communicating in a forum, then maybe online schools are not for you, the only way to find out is to try. Good luck.

The worst experience with counselors at UOP. They have counselors who conduct things their way without following a protocol or chain of command. The counselors are not readily available to assist you and they will try to work against you if you assert yourself and show disdain with their performance. I have an academic counsleor that is trying to make my situation a living HE#$ and the bad thing about that is I technically didn’t even start yet. I am an alumni of UOP and they won’t accept the same classes in the same program all of which were a B+ or better because the counselors think I should take them again. The EXACT SAME CLASSES! Not a variation the EXACT Class. Listen, don’t attend UOP. UOP is like getting a generic cereal. You just don’t know how it’ll be but you can be certain its no frills.

Thanks for taking the time to write about your own experience at the University of Phoenix. It always helps to get the opinion of someone who has actually attended classes at a school!

Every degree seems to only go into the most general basics of every degree program… I found the instructors bland and unhelpful, rarely posting real content or even lectures… it was more of a read a book, write a paper, wash hands, repeat process in my opinion… if you show up, write in the forum, and submit a paper, you will pass, end of story. I also found the curriculum for the Multimeda and Visual communication degree dreadfully out of date… example: image editing was nothing more than having to read help files in photoshop elements… and web design principles can not be critiqued on a site that was built with HTML at least 10 years ago… The advisors etc were great, but the rest was truly disappointing…
